Ten weeks, just ten short weeks that I am sure will fly by in no time at all. Ten weeks is what I have left to put in my last training miles for the 2018 WDW Marathon.
Weighing in on 2017’s Food Trends
Last month I made my annual pilgrimage to Allrecipes and to be honest it wasn’t what I had hoped for. I don’t know if I had some sort of great expectation of it breaking my funk, but that didn’t happen. I did push myself out of my cozy and comfortable little box. That push resulted in me questioning myself in one of those good ole, I should have done or said that things. Do you ever do that? I fall victim to it all to often and this time I am beating myself up over food trends.

Fumbling to 40
I turn the BIG 4-0 in a week and while I know it is just a number and another day, I am for some reason fumbling to 40.

What’s in my August Popsugar Must Have Box

Easy Pickled Jalapeno Peppers
Who remembers the Mother Goose tongue twister about Peter Piper’s Pickled Peppers?
Peter Piper picked a peck of pickled peppers;
A peck of pickled peppers Peter Piper picked;
If Peter Piper picked a peck of pickled peppers,
Where’s the peck of pickled peppers Peter Piper picked?
When I am making pickled jalapeno peppers I can’t help but think of Peter Piper and his pickled peppers. My husband will even come into the kitchen saying the tongue twister. I can also say I completely understand why Peter Piper picked a peck of pickle peppers and where they went. Pickled peppers are delicious and if Peter Piper’s were anything like my delicious, pickled jalapeno peppers they all went in his belly.

Happy 20th Birthday Allrecipes

Allrecipes is a go to resource for cooks by cooks, complete with almost any recipe imaginable.

DIY First Aid Kit for Active Families

Hello, my name is Debbie and I am a klutz. This is a trait that I have passed down to my kids. Being able to trip over our own feet doesn’t stop our family from being active. We are always outside and doing something. We hike and bike, float down rivers and more, we are just prepared and I always have our first aid kit ready for whatever may happen.

“Boston” Baked Beans
The time of the year that is filled with BBQ’s and get together’s is here! That means it is time to break out some of everyone’s favorite classic summertime dishes. For my family that means beans, more specifically “Boston” baked beans.
Southern Pimiento Cheese
Growing up in the south I have a special place in my heart and stomach for classic southern foods. There are so many delicious southern foods that I love. One of the ones with multiple uses is pimiento cheese.
Bloom Where You Are Planted : Gillis Hill Farm
When my family moved back to North Carolina in 2013, there were several things we were looking forward to. One of those things was a local roadside stand where I would buy fresh veggies during the summer. To our surprise that veggie stand expanded greatly in the 7 years that we were away. There was now a huge roadside stand and separate from it, Gillis Hill Farm where they sell homemade ice cream. Who can resist ice cream? Certainly not my family. Once we visited we were hooked on this hidden treasure in our own backyard.
