Oh 2020, what can I say? I will not miss you when you go. This year has been an odd one to say the least. The pandemic has put even those with the best resiliency skills into a prolonged stress reaction and time is either just dragging by or speeding along at warp speed. We are all a mess, even if we don’t want to admit it and that is okay. I can say I feel this Christmas I am more of a hot mess than usual. Finals are finally over and I am working on making things magical because after all, that is what moms do at Christmas. If you are looking for some last minute ideas this year I am sharing some easy things you can make for your own Homemade Christmas this year.
Every person has their own opinion on how one should “behave” right now. My opinion is you should do what is right for you and your family and if that is making homemade gifts, do it. If you want to take this time to focus on your immediate family and make it the best Christmas at home, do it. Do what makes you happy, your mental health is important too. It is a pandemic, things are different this year and most people are accepting of that fact.
My focus this year is my family and making sweet treats that they enjoy. My oldest was able to come home for Christmas this year so Buckeyes and “Elf Poop” cookies will be made and a few new recipes that are easy to put together at the last minute.
Homemade Christmas
Cinnamon Swirl Chocolate Chip Bread
Peanut Butter Mini Candy Coated Chocolate Cookies
