It’s October and that means Halloween! We LOVE Halloween in our house and all of the spooky things that come with it. From costumes and decorations right down to food and drinks. My kids are getting older, so my family’s days trick or treating are slowing coming to an end but that doesn’t mean our Halloween fun has to end. I still try to make Halloween special and fun for my boys. Special snacks and treats are definitely the way to the hearts and stomachs. Sweet treats like Ice Cream Floats are perfect for Halloween parties and fun.

When it comes to throwing a Halloween party I try to come up with a variety of ghoulish treats for my ghouls and I often find inspiration while taking a trip to the store. I fell in love with the #MiniMonsters 7.5 ounce Sunkist®, A&W® Root Beer, 7UP®, Canada Dry®, Squirt®, and Big Red® 6-packs at Walmart! They even have a special offer on Ibotta. Right now, buy any 2 of the 7.5oz. #MiniMonsters 6 pack can varieties and get $1 cash back. That definitely sweetens the deal!

What makes these cans even more perfect is that the #MiniMonster cans are interactive. All you need to do is go to http://www.minimonsters.com and download the MiniMonsters Augmented Reality app,  After you have downloaded the app it is time to bring your monsters to life by scanning your can. You can record a video of your monsters, take a selfie with them, and even share on Snapchat. If you buy different varieties they even interact with each other.

Now that I had my #MiniMonster soda I needed to come up with a way to use my “monster juice”. I decided Ice cream floats or rather, ice scream floats would be perfect! I gathered up the monster juice (#MiniMonsters soda cans), frozen screams (vanilla ice cream), vampires blood (grenadine), whipped screams (whipped cream), and bloody eye balls (maraschino cherries). I also added a candy rim to my skull glasses using red candy melts.

The first step in putting together the Ice Scream Floats is to add the Vampires Blood (grenadine) to the cup.

Now you add your monster juice, 1 7.5 oz mini monster can of soda (any flavor). The 7.5-ounce  can of soda is the perfect amount for these Ice Scream Floats. Pour slowly making sure when it bubbles up it does not overflow.
