I know what many of you are thinking, water is so meh, I have trouble drinking water and more. There are tons of reasons people have for not drinking more water. What if I told you I had a great way to get more water in your diet that also doubles as a great drink for get togethers? Strawberry Lime Water is the perfect solution to all your water drinking needs!
I very rarely drink soda. I pretty much gave it up back in 2009. Back then I started drinking Crystal Light because I just couldn’t bear the taste of plain water. Fast forward 7 years and I have been keeping my eyes open for other alternatives. That is when I found this recipe for Strawberry Lime Water. After mixing it up I couldn’t wait to try it but I had to wait my turn. My daughter and youngest son saw me mixing it and asked for some “Fancy Water” before I could pour myself a cup. I swear those kids have some sort of internal alarm system that says mom is in the kitchen making food! So, I was a nice mom and gave them each a cup and they both loved it and after I poured myself some I did too!
This Strawberry Lime Water has just enough flavor to it to make it perfect plus I had a snack for when I was done with my water. I could see myself making it not just for myself to have but for special occasions. It would be the perfect drink for a lunch with friends. I can’t help but wonder why I hadn’t made this sooner!
What do you add to your water?
- 5 cups water
- 1 cup ice cubes (optional)
- ½ cup small strawberries
- 1 lime, sliced
- Pour water into a pitcher. Add ice and strawberries. Squeeze lime slices to release some of their juice into the water before adding them in. Stir to combine flavors.
